Happy International Women’s Day 2026! Today, as we honor the unstoppable spirit of women worldwide, I’m Kareen, Gender Expert at Living Green Cameroon, reflecting on the power of empowerment right here in our communities.

At Living Green Cameroon, our mission is clear: to empower women and girls through vocational and business training, equipping them to launch and sustain their own thriving enterprises. Women and girls are the heartbeat of change key agents driving sustainable development. As the world knows, achieving gender equality isn’t just right; it’s essential for building fair, inclusive, prosperous, and peaceful societies for everyone.

Picture this: A young girl in a rural Cameroonian village, once sidelined by energy poverty and limited opportunities, now runs a solar-powered business lighting up her community. That’s the transformation we’re fueling. Our goal? To empower 1 million women and girls by 2030 with income-generating skills, turning them into confident entrepreneurs or skilled employees who uplift their families and neighborhoods.

In 2025 alone, we’ve trained hundreds through hands-on programs in renewable energy, agribusiness, and digital skills watching them break barriers and build legacies. But we can’t do it alone. On this Women’s Day, join us in celebrating their victories and committing to more.
