Understanding

Living Green is laying out where we collectively need to go and how to get there. By doing so, businesses will not only help build a prosperous, more sustainable world, but also mature new global markets and enter the next era of business.

Action

Living Green is translating the SDGs into responsible business practices, innovation and investment. Ensuring that women and girls are not excluded from accessing opportunities and realizing aspirations for themselves and their families.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In September 2015, 193 countries came together at the United Nations to adopt and commit to a long-term, comprehensive strategy to tackle the world’s greatest challenges related to global sustainable development. The result was the SDGs, a list of 17 goals to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030.

Our Solution: Using economic empowerment to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With the innovative shift from a relief assistance approach to a mix of skills development and market-based support for women and girls.

Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Development Goals: No matter how large or small, and regardless of their industry or brand, all business can contribute to the SDGs. While the scale and scope of the global goals is unprecedented, the fundamental ways that business can contribute remain very important and unchanged. Living Green continues to work in close collaborations with business owners to promote behavior change and  do business responsibly and then pursue opportunities to solve societal challenges through business innovation and collaboration.

Partnerships: The SDGs address the growing complexities of global challenges. Because these challenges are often interconnected, they require involvement from many parties. Investing in partnerships can business create long-term value and achieve a positive impact on society far beyond what they could accomplish alone. Collaborations can take many forms. Within a value chain, across industries, with a local government or civil society organization, or with the UN.

Living Green is fully committed to the SDGs. We recognizes that development objectives vary from one community to another. Our work is therefore initiated and motivated by understanding the real needs of each community, and adapts our interventions accordingly. Living Green supports the implementation of this transformative agenda according to the needs and priorities of each community, through a collaborative approach, and in partnership with bilateral and multilateral development financing institutions, the private sector and civil society including government agencies.
